The roots of NextLevel Maintenance Group go back further than any business license. Founder Marcus Steve Harrelson learned the trade as a boy, tagging along with his grandfather, Herald O. Anderson (1914-2004), who owned two small apartment buildings in Paso Robles and La Habra, California, back in the 1970s. Steve remembers helping change curtains and kitchen faucets in empty units, and pulling quarters from the laundry machines to roll into coin wrappers — his grandfather paying him with whatever coins didn't make a full roll. It was there, in the small, unglamorous details of keeping a property running, that Steve first learned a lesson that still shapes the business today: it's in the details.
That foundation carried into a working career that started in 1992, on landscaping crews for Ence Homes in St. George, Utah, where Steve worked as a crew lead and driver. Over the following two decades, he worked nearly every role the trade has to offer — laborer, crew lead, superintendent — building a first-hand understanding of property maintenance long before he ever ran a company of his own.
In 2010, that hands-on experience became a business. Starting with a used Ford Explorer and a small set of hand tools, Steve began taking on landscape and yard maintenance work across the Las Vegas valley under the name Precision Grounds Keeping — building a client base one yard cleanup at a time.
As the business grew, so did its scope. Precision Groundskeeping became a licensed Nevada LLC in 2016, formalizing years of hands-on landscape work in the Las Vegas Valley. From there, the business expanded beyond groundskeeping into full-service property maintenance as Precision Property Maintenance — offering handyman services, repairs, and maintenance coordination for homeowners, rental owners, and property managers across the Valley.
Today, that same foundation — a lesson learned from a grandfather in the 1970s, a trade learned on landscaping crews in the '90s, and over a decade of running a business built one client at a time — has become NextLevel Maintenance Group. Built on more than 30 years of hands-on experience across every level of the trade, NextLevel exists to bring that same standard of accountability and attention to detail to every property we touch — backed now by purpose-built technology designed to give owners, managers, and technicians real visibility into every job, from request to completion.
